In December 2020 he was elected Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of NAS
RA .
Since January 2021 he has been the Chairman of the Supreme Certifying Committee Specialized Academic Council on World History based in the Institute of Oriental Studies of NAS RA .
He is a member of the editorial boards of the “ Bulletin of the Institute of Oriental Studies ( The Countries and Peoples of the Near and Middle East )”, “ Oriental Studies in Armenia ”, “ Ancient Orient ”, “ Fundamental Armenology ” collections of articles . He has been teaching at a number of universities since 2003 . He has published 4 books and more than 30 scientific articles . The main range of scientific interests includes the history of the Armenian Highland and Asia Minor in the II millennium BC .
Robert Ghazaryan has been on scientific business trips and has participated in conferences in Germany , Italy , Greece and Egypt . In 2015 he received a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service and was hosted by the Institute of Assyriology and Hittite Studies at the University of Munich .
He is married and has three children .
