Englewood Florida Chamber of Commerce What is the Chamber? How does the Chamber operate? The Englewood Florida Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization acting as an advocate to meet the needs of the business community. It is the mission of the Englewood Florida Chamber of Commerce to advance the development of business and economic growth through professional and community services for the enhancement of Englewood and surrounding areas. The Chamber of Commerce currently employs full-time and parttime personnel. The Executive Director reports to a twelve member Board of Directors, elected by the general membership. Volunteering their time and leadership, the Board of Directors sets the policy and vision for the organization. The Chamber relies heavily on volunteers in the office and on various committees. These volunteer members are essential to the operation of the Chamber. Who funds the Chamber? The Chamber in the Community: The Englewood Florida Chamber of Commerce is funded through the investment of our members as well as special events and fundraising activities. The Chamber also seeks grants and explores public-private partnerships in order to lessen the financial burden on our local businesses and organizations. Englewood has the unique distinction that its only governance is split between Charlotte and Sarasota counties. The Englewood Florida Chamber of Commerce works with the community and county governments to promote economic growth and stability. The Chamber hosts a number of community events throughout the year, including a Golf Tournament, Business Expo, Smoked Mullet Awards Luncheon, the Bon Appetit and Business in Excellence Awards, the Pirate Poker Run, the Manasota Mystique Gala, monthly Business Card Exchanges, Biz@Noon luncheons, and ribbon cutting ceremonies. The Chamber is here for the businesses of Englewood. When a business becomes a member of the Chamber of Commerce, it receives a listing on the Chamber website as well as in our Community Guide, published annually. Membership also allows a business to display their marketing materials and business cards in the Chamber Visitor Center. The Englewood Florida Chamber of Commerce also serves as Englewood’s Visitor Center and is an excellent resource for new residents and businesses. The Chamber provides maps, brochures and guides from its members, statewide and local attractions, and information from Charlotte and Sarasota County governments.
