Englewood Florida Chamber of Commerce
What is the Chamber?
How does the Chamber Operate?
The Englewood Florida Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit
organization acting as an advocate to meet the needs of the
business community. It is the mission of the Englewood Florida
Chamber of Commerce to advance the development of business
and economic growth through professional and community
services for the enhancement of Englewood and surrounding
areas.
The Chamber of Commerce currently employs full-time and parttime personnel. The Executive Director reports to a twelve member
Board of Directors, elected by the general membership. Volunteering
their time and leadership, the Board of Directors sets the policy and
vision for the organization. The Chamber relies heavily on volunteers
in the office and on various committees. These volunteer members
are essential to the operation of the Chamber.
Who funds the Chamber?
The Chamber in the Community:
The Englewood Florida Chamber of Commerce is funded
through the investment of our members as well as special events
and fundraising activities. The Chamber also seeks grants and
explores public-private partnerships in order to lessen the
financial burden on our local businesses and organizations.
Englewood has the unique distinction that its only governance is
split between Charlotte and Sarasota counties. The Englewood
Florida Chamber of Commerce works with the community and
county governments to promote economic growth and stability.
The Chamber hosts a number of community events throughout
the year, including a Golf Tournament, Business Expo, Smoked
Mullet Awards Luncheon, the Bon Appetit and Business in
Excellence Awards, the Pirate Poker Run, the Manasota Mystique
Gala, monthly Business Card Exchanges, Biz@Noon luncheons,
and ribbon cutting ceremonies.
The Chamber is here for the businesses of Englewood. When
a business becomes a member of the Chamber of Commerce,
it receives a listing on the Chamber website as well as in our
Community Guide, published annually. Membership also allows
a business to display their marketing materials and business
cards in the Chamber Visitor Center. Chamber members are
encouraged to attend regularly scheduled monthly networking
events - not only for networking opportunities, but as a referral
tool, to gain clients and for member-to-member service.
