The Atlantic Inn first opened its doors in 1879 and has continuously served in that capacity in one form or another . Brothers Greg and Doug Faron , who recently purchased the inn , have welcomed in a new generation with a refreshed and reimagined property with nods to its history and vibe . Each of the twenty-one rooms features updated amenities such as air conditioning , Wi-Fi , newly renovated private bathrooms and furniture .
The expansive grounds are dotted with flower beds , paths and ocean views , making it the perfect place for a wedding ceremony and reception . When we host weddings at the Atlantic Inn , the property is yours for the weekend . We close to the public so that you , your friends and family can enjoy this amazing property all to yourselves .
The Inn ’ s restaurant 1879 offers a unique and exciting dining experience , which focuses on seasonally fresh and locally sourced ingredients . Along with our culinary team we can host rehearsal dinners , receptions and post-wedding brunches for up to 200 people .
Guests are welcome to come join us to enjoy house made dishes and romantic sunset views . We also offer top-notch on-site event catering for other special occasions to fully enjoy the beauty of our property .
The Atlantic Inn is an eight-minute walk from the ferries and shops in Old Harbor . In short proximity to the inn , Block Island offers beautiful beaches , historic lighthouses , 200-foot-high bluffs , endless nature trails and great fishing . The 140-year-old Inn is open May through October to take advantage of the mild spring , splendid summer and breathtaking fall .
