Sitting on floor pillows in suits and dresses while sipping on fancy Champagne is exactly how Allie and Kyle envisioned their wedding . A departure from a traditional venue with hundreds of guests , the couple opted for an intimate celebration surrounded by close family .
When they first visited Rhode Island , Allie and Kyle fell in love with the small state . They agreed to seal their love at a place they loved , their first vacation spot , Kelly Beach . This easy pick was followed by a challenge in finding a reception venue that suited their preferences . Allie turned to Pinterest for inspiration , where she stumbled upon the perfect blend between elegant yet casual : luxury picnics .
With the help of Ella , the owner of Sweet Rose Picnics , the couple ’ s Pinterest vision came to life . “ I provided my color scheme and asked her to do her thing ,” says Allie . “ She provided charcuterie from Graze on Main in East Greenwich , chocolate strawberries , cake from Antonio ’ s Bakery in Warwick and a beautiful picnic set up with silverware , Champagne glasses and decor .”
The ceremony included twelve adults and seven children , all close family members of Allie and Kyle . Emotions still soared high that day . “ It was pure magic on Kelly beach ,” says Allie . “ I loved the intimacy of our ceremony .”
Following the ceremony , Allie and Kyle created and captured lasting memories running through the sand and ocean before joining their family for an unconventional afterparty . “ My favorite part of the picnic reception involved a Bluetooth speaker , my husband as the DJ and us sharing dances with our parents and children ,” says Allie . “ Smaller in size than many , but that didn ’ t matter one bit . I walked down our ‘ aisle ’ with my dad , married the love of my life in a simple , timeless gown and enjoyed my favorite snack ( charcuterie ), dances , laughs and some Champagne with the ones closest to us .”
Despite skepticism surrounding the picnic-themed day , Allie and Kyle ’ s mid-November wedding exceeded expectations and lived up to the standards of the special date . “ It was truly a day I wish I could relive over and over again ” says Allie .
For others who are looking to go against the grain , Allie offers her advice on how to handle outside opinions . “ Do what makes you happy ,” says Allie . “ Everything will work out as it should . I had everything I could have ever asked for and more on my wedding day .”
