The Meet Cute : In January 2019 , Elizabeth almost canceled on Matthew , who she had been chatting with on Tinder . She was tired , but she made it , and the two ended up clicking instantly on their first date at the Providence Oyster Bar . Elizabeth knew they were both passionate and ambitious people . The next few dates involved arcade games at Freeplay , salsa dancing at Tel Aviv and stargazing . “ Matt always kept our dates interesting ,” Elizabeth says . “ He is constantly exposing me to new and fun experiences . Who knew I would end up being a Tinderella ?”
The Engagement : Elizabeth frequents a cliff in Newport , where she spent many summer days . She fell in love with the scene so much that she painted it . Eventually , she took Matt to her “ secret ” cliff . One spring day , the couple headed out for a Newport date night . “ We arrived in Newport just in time for sunset ,” Elizabeth says . Matt parked at Brenton Point State Park for a “ quick walk ” before drinks . They climbed down to the beach and a random person asked to take a Polaroid picture of the couple . “ We then climbed up to the cliff I had been painting . Matt held me tightly and said how much he loved me ,” Elizabeth says . “ All of a sudden , he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him .”
The Highlights : The couple highlighted their love for gardening during the ceremony by watering a new plant , which symbolizes nurturing a marriage . The couple had also taken weekly salsa lessons with their friend Richard Letrero , so Elizabeth changed into a short white dress for their first “ salsa ” dance , set to “ Sway ” by Michael Bublé .
The Accents : A Mediterranean theme marked the wedding , complete with blue and white accents , lemons , flowers , candles and baroque details . Her sister Jacquie , family and friends helped Elizabeth hunt for sixty antique blue and white vases , each one slightly different and with its own story . Her friend , Stephanie Simonelli , also designed a welcome sign , seating chart , table numbers and more with the same baroque theme , as well as drink signs with the couple ’ s dogs on them . Jacquie went the extra mile by putting together a scrapbook with photos and letters from family and friends .
