The Meet Cute : TJ and I met about ten years ago at a restaurant I was working at . After a missed opportunity , six years later , he happened to come and sit at my bar and listen to me vent about my bad luck with boys for hours . About a month later , he came in for dinner and as soon as that door opened , my heart dropped . I knew this was my chance and grabbed a piece of cheesecake “ on me ,” and later that night he sent me a message on Instagram to say thank you . I wasn ’ t going to let him get away again so I mustered up the courage to ask him to grab dinner with my friend and I the next night . — Katie
The Proposal : I decided to ask one of her best friends , Lauren , to invite her out for a girls ’ day . Katie has always been a city girl , so I thought the new rooftop lounge Aloft would be the perfect location . When we “ asked ” if we could see the rooftop , our photographer Mel Colvin did an excellent job “ taking photos for the Aloft Instagram .” When we first started dating , Katie told me that there were seven billion people in the world and I was just one of them . Of seven billion people , Katie was my one . I dropped a card that said “ 1 > 7,000,000,000 ” saying , “ I think this is for you .” When she looked at it , she laughed , I pulled the ring out and said , “ This is also for you .” I got down on one knee and she said yes ! The perfect day for the perfect girl ! — TJ
Ashley & Justin

The Meet Cute : I played in a cover band , and I met Ashley at the Thanksgiving show through a mutual friend . — Justin
The Proposal : It was a long time coming . We bought a house during COVID ; it was the best time to do it . We had a Disney engagement , and I don ’ t think she had any idea it was coming that trip . I bought a smaller , slim ring box to conceal it and I had it in my pocket for the first three days of the trip . She actually patted me down and thought it was a pack of gum ! We went to dinner at Magic Kingdom and ended up back in front of the castle . We asked a couple to take a regular photo of us , and when I asked to take one more , I got down on one knee . — Justin
I was very surprised and excited , and I didn ’ t say much until we were walking away . I was sobbing on the tram home ! — Ashley
The Wedding : Our planner , Shannon St . Ours from SES Events , was phenomenal . She has been a guide , counselor , connector and soundboard for ideas . Whenever we hit a snag , we knew we could count on her . — Ashley
Something unique about our wedding is that we used names of adoptable dogs as our table numbers / designations . Each table was named after an adoptable dog and had a QR code to the Always Adopt website . We lost our rescue , Hercules , unexpectedly just before our engagement and thought this would be a great way to honor him ( he was a crowd favorite ). We also donated to Always Adopt and Angell Animal Medical Center in lieu of favors . — Justin
