BLACK HISTORY MONTH-

A BRIEF BACKGROUND

We have a lot to thank Dr. Carter G. Woodson for.

His studies and writings about Black history and the contribution of black people throughout America, has given us the legacy that is Black History Month( BHM) today. Dr. Woodson came from humble beginnings but this did not stifle any ambitions he may have had. He worked in the coal mines as a child and attended school when he was a young adult. He was an extremely intelligent man and went on to obtain a Ph. D. at Harvard Business School. He soon became aware that black Americans were being classified as a race that had not made any contribution to human civilisation and decided to set the record straight.
