Computer Lab News
Mrs. Hatfield
In computer classes, kindergarteners
have learned the basic functions of a
Mac computer. Students can log
in/log out and use tools to access
different parts of Google Chrome. The
kindergarteners are currently learning
different parts of the keyboard and
trying to locate all letters in the
alphabet. In first grade, students are
learning the keyboard by row. They
are learning the order of letters on the
keyboard and how to use the shift key
to make capital letters and symbols. In
second grade, students are learning
how to type by using home row.
Second graders are meeting their
typing goals and moving up levels on
the keyboard!
Music Notes
Ms. Berube & Mrs. Zakoscielny
All classes, grades K, 1 & 2 experience
weekly music classes for 45 minutes
with attention on the development of
rhythmic, tonal and music reading
skills essential for sound music
literacy. Students are working
together and participating in many
musical experiences including folk
songs and rhymes, singing games,
echo songs, movement games, steady
beat and rhythm games, listening,
tonal and rhythmic practice,
learning about music and playing
classroom instruments. These
experiences guide the children into
reading and writing notation and
improved music literacy.
Kindergarteners are working on
performing a steady beat while
chanting and singing rhymes, songs,
movement games and other musical
activities. All students explore tonal
and rhythmic studies while singing,
reading music notation, performing
movement games, playing classroom
instruments and listening attentively
and purposefully to music. Grade 1
classes are studying rhythmic patterns
that contain quarter notes, pairs of
