Identified non-compliance breaches

Listed below are the most frequently identified non-compliance items as a result of recent Energy Safe Victoria inspections on gas installations ( Apr 2018 to Jun 2018 ).
When inspecting , ESV assesses the installation for compliance against the prescribed Australian Standards . It is imperative that gasfitting professionals have the right tools for their job . This includes access to the relevant Australian Standards .
Reading and understanding the relevant standards , as well as following the manufacturer ’ s installation instructions , is important to ensure a compliant gas installation .

Multiple occupancies within the same building lacked a quarter turn manual shut-off valve , or were not accessible , or lacked a durable , permanent sign located in a prominent position adjacent to the valve , identifying it as a gas valve , and if remote from the occupancy identifying the occupancy .
