Several of the Foxes ’ top playmakers have graduated , including quarterback Caden Lemmon , running back Adrian Baxter and wide receiver Brady Wasurick . Lemmon passed for 1,533 yards and 16 TDs and ran for another 665 yards and 10 scores . He also averaged 39 yards per catch as a receiver . Baxter ran for a team-high 948 yards and 10 TDs and Wasurick caught 38 passes for 659 yards and seven TDs .
But the Foxes return quarterback Alfonso Gonzales , wide receiver Bentley McDaniel and H-back Josh Ivey on offense , plus center Will Katenkamp ( 5-0 , 255 , Sr .).
They also return six starters on defense so with 10 returning starters the Foxes still appear to be a force to be reckoned with . They ’ ve earned No . 20 preseason state ranking in Class 4A-II in “ Dave Campbell ’ s Texas Football Magazine .”
“ We are expecting to be really competitive in our area and compete for the district championship ,” said Caddo Mills coach Kodi Crane , whose Foxes won the District 6-4A-II title in 2023 with a 5-0 record .
Crane listed the Foxes ’ strength as depth in the skill positions .
Like Lemmon did , Gonzales played a variety of positions for the Foxes last season . He passed for 708 yards , completing 39 of 76 attempts for eight TDs . He rushed for 831 yards and 15 TDs on only 88 carries ( 9.4 yards per carry ) and also caught 18 passes for 184 yards and one TD . He earned a share of the District 6-4A-II offensive most valuable player award .
