As music director , my job is to provide overall artistic leadership for the RI Philharmonic Orchestra and Music School that will further the mission of this great organization . This leadership includes programming and conducting repertoire for the orchestra , working with the wonderful students at the music school and more . I hope to engage people of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate and move forward our mission of providing outstanding music and music education to the entire community .
What do you look forward to most as you assume this role ?
It ’ s hard to pick only one thing I ’ m excited about since there are many different aspects of the job I ’ m looking forward to . Of course , one of the main things is getting to work with the wonderful musicians of this great orchestra and getting to perform all these incredible works of music for the community . I ’ m also looking forward to getting to know this community on a much deeper level and can ’ t wait to get to work with the students at the music school and inspire the next generation of musicians .
