Christmas with The Celts“ Christmas with The Celts,” the popular PBS pledge show, is now touring across America. Originally aired on over 200 PBS channels in the U. S., Canada, and on the BBC in Ireland, this beloved production quickly grew in demand, leading to performances at prestigious venues like the Grand Ole Opry and Ryman Auditorium. Celebrating fourteen years of national touring, the show combines ancient Irish Christmas carols, lively dance, and contemporary songs with Celtic instrumentation. Each year brings new Christmas hits, Celts originals, and fresh Irish dance tunes, ensuring no two performances are the same. Doors open at 6 p. m., show begins at 7 p. m. DEC. 12 – 13: Rhode Island’ s first classical ballet company begins season sixty-six with one of the most magical and whimsical ballets of all time – COPPÉLIA! This comical ballet follows the fun and feisty Swanhilda as she disguises as the dancing doll that comes to life, set to the beautiful music of Leo Delibes, for the entire family to enjoy. Director Herci Marsden and The State Ballet of Rhode Island have delivered this cultural treasure and tradition since 1962, and are sure to tickle you with laughter. 2 p. m.
