[Encore] Millennial Business and Life Mastery Magazine - Barbados 002 [Encore] Millennial Mastery Business and Life Mast | Page 3

Dear Reader, I am honoured to introduce this the Encore Edition to our Premiere Issue that was released earlier this year. This magazine is to be released three times per year, every four months. However for this segment of the year, we decided to release an Encore of this our first issue, of which the theme was The Top 30 Under 30 Bajan Millennial Entrepreneurs List. It is back due to popular request. Within the magazine are a list of the Top 30 Bajan Millennial Entrepreneurs Under 30, listed in no particular order. The criteria for selection included that they have to be a solopreneur or have started that business on their own, have good social media visibility, be Barbadian, and be a millennial under 30 i.e. born between the years 1980 and 1996 and be between 23 and 29 years of age. The initial magazine, in addition to being our premiere issue, was released for the May 2019 to August 2019 time period. As such, all of our contenders had to be between 23 and 29 years of age at the time of selection, which was between January 2019 and April 2019. We reached out to entrepreneurs who we had our eyes on and knew fit the criteria. We also called around to different entre- preneur organisations on the island that were willing to participate, particularly youth organisations, and got five (5) top picks from each, having given them our criteria, and welcomed them to have some say on any additional criteria that they wanted to add. We encouraged each organisation take into consideration other things in addition to the above criteria, such as a pleasant personality, and what they are doing for their community, which were considered bonuses. The picks did not necessarily have to be clients or members of that organisation. Not all of their picks were guaranteed a spot on the final list, but were considered semi-finalists/ contenders until the final list came out. I would therefore like to thank the following organisations for their participation in this process: the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES), the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation (BIDC), the Barbados Youth Development Council (BYDC), and the Barbados Youth Business Trust (BYBT). Our mission as a magazine is to inspire other Millennials and persons from other generations coming up, particularly Generation Z, that their dreams are possible, if they only believe - our mission is to serve as an empowering reminder of this. Also, the impor- tance of actively trying to be a source of good, positivity, and value in the world. Our vision, in summary, is to be able to continue to do this in the future.
