I buy my wax from Dadant Beekeepers Supply . After cooking it with Damar resin and straining out the undesirable fine particles , I pour the mixture into individual containers and let it cool . I use these blocks of wax / Damar as needed , melting them into a tin bowl set on my griddle . The amber tint in the “ clear ” wax could be a problem now that I use a pure white background . So I purchased clear R & F wax beads to mitigate the yellow color for my final coat of wax .
