Its been 2 years in the making since this publication was a thought in the minds of myself and my business partner / partner in life Danny . I ’ d like to take this opportunity to introduce us . My name is Raven . I am the Editor-in-Chief of Encantado Magazine . My fiancée , Danny , and I have had this magazine in mind for many years . Not knowing much about how exactly to start a magazine , we never let that hold us back . When we first met , I was a nursing assistant at a local day rehabilitation facility . I was very comfortable with the profession I chose to follow at that time , although I had to work tons of overtime to pay my bills , get my children what they needed and have enough funds left over to pamper myself from time to time . Danny was the owner of his very own landscaping company . I looked up to him because of that . I always had a dream of being some kind of business owner , I just had no idea where to start . Plus , I had the mindset that most people have - I need a large amount of money to get started - I need a college education ... Etc , etc . ( Although those things are super important and highly encouraged ) I did not have that . Here was Danny , thinking up a new business every day and I couldn ’ t even wrap my mind around one . Once we were officially together , the more we talked about our dreams for our lives and future , the more I wanted to join him with his business ventures . He needed help with the technical stuff and I needed a mentor who wasn ’ t afraid of taking those risks . So , 2 years into our relationship , I very reluctantly quit my guaranteed paycheck and we began a journey which would take us digging through the depths of our worst fears as well as soring high into some of the best experiences of our lives . Not having a single dime in our bank account , thank God for the support and love from our families ( and at many times not so much ) we continued to keep our eyes on our goals . Without the love , strength and faith in each other and our higher purpose , neither one of could have made it to where we are today . Its amazing how letting go of things we once thought were so necessary to live or survive can carry you to a deeper level of understanding ones self . This , is what inspires us to open ourselves up and share not only our stories with you but the stories of many others who may inspire you to follow your dream as well ! We love people , we love our home city . New Mexico has so much beauty and positive things happening , its about time that we recognize and highlight the people who make up our community .

Inside every future issue of Encantado Magazine you may find your favorite old timer mom and pop shop , new shops finding their place in this city , as well as new local artists , models , writers , and other residents of the Land of Enchantment just like you , who have fought or are in the midst of fighting for their dreams !
