Fitness is Her sickness

Introducing Danielle King

By, Pamela Wood

I first heard about Danielle King from my friend CeCe. I witnessed Cece’s weight loss via social media and could not believe my eyes. My girl was working out, eating right, and she looked amazing! Later that year CeCe began working at the same company as me. Seeing her in person was more impressive than her Facebook posts. CeCe looked like she had lost at least 50 pounds. I was fascinated by the enthusiasm and dedication my friend had shown during her weight loss journey. So, I sent her trainer, Danielle King a friend request on Facebook. Danielle gladly accepted my request. During our first online encounter Danielle was the picture of health and encouragement. She invited me to come to her gym for a trial training session but I was working at the speed of light and could not make the time. I would schedule appointments and just wouldn’t be able to keep them due to piss poor planning, responsibilities at home and/or at work. Honestly, at that time, I wasn’t ready. I wasn’t dedicated enough to me to give myself the blessing of good health. She and I corresponded via messenger for several months. During those few months I gained 30 pounds. Not to mention the 15 pounds I had picked up prior to seeing CeCe at work.

I gained so much weight and was in such a state of denial that I chose to believe I had shrunk my clothes in the dryer by drying them with too much heat. I could not fathom gaining that much weight in such a short period of time. I finally bought a scale, a fancy talking scale no less, and reality kicked in. I gently stepped on it and stood there waiting for a reading of my weight and it blurted out “your body weight is 202 pounds?”

Why did I buy a scale that talked and how did I get ths heavy?
