Egypt "Ify" Ufele is not your average 10-year-old. She is likely one of the most extraordianary young ladies you will experience in your lifetime. She took the pain and frustration of being bullied and channeled it into building an empire with a legacy of positive motivating resolve.
Ify, who is a 6th grader started Chubii Line after being bullied through 1st and 2nd grade for being heavy set with chronic, severe asthma and dark skinned. Ify finally found it within herself to fight back after being punched, kicked, slapped, pushed onto the floor, called out of her name, and even stabbed with a pencil at one point. She didn’t use her fists though. She fought back like any true diva would. She fought back with innovation! Her innovation started with fashion. Her grandmother taught her to sew and make patterns at a very young age and she submerged herself in creating her own designs after being bullied spiraled out of control. Ify created colorful fun African garb with urban flavor in the face of adversity. She made clothing for people of all sizes so anybody could enjoy the look she created. She also made the designs to draw attention to her anti-bullying message.
“Bullying is wrong and everybody should be respected. I started Chubii Line to build Children’s confidence and to show them that they are as good as anybody else and to bring Africa to America one design at a time.”
