t’s one of the smallest Italian regions which ne-
vertheless, is well known for its timeless charm
and rates amongst the first places in the world
for quality of life. It is Umbria, the green heart of
Italy, set centerally in our peninsula, well known
for its great food and drink, arts and crafts that have stood
the test of time, which have flourished again in the many
local events that enhance these flavors and ancient skills.
The wonders of Saint Francesco in the face of Umbrian’s
ever-changing beauty, its variety of environmental fra-
meworks and traditions have remained unchanged, which
to this day still seizes the attention of the tourist.
Water is the main characteristic of the region.
Crossing its lands is all directions and surrounding the nu-
merous flowing rivers and streams, the gracious Lake of
Piediluco which creates space between hills covered with
oaks, and where the fascinating Marmore Falls plunges into
the roaring Valnerina, and where the renowned spas like
San Gemini and Nocera Umbra are located.
Lake Trasimeno, has been the centre of attention for cele-
brated painters and writers for the particularity of its habi-
tat, and its breathtaking scenery.
