Comments
The Indonesian government approved a 15% increase of electricity prices that applied as of 2013. The increase affected users, consuming
more than 900 VA.
The government plans to stop subsidizing the industry from 2014 as the costs from the recent years have become an increasing burden. In
2012, the subsidies soared by USD 7bn to USD 22bn in comparison to the preceding year. In 2013, the amount is expected to reach USD
30bn оr a whooping 25% of all government spending.
