Festival Marés Vivas: on the other side of the river, in Vila Nova de Gaia, the Festival Marés Vivas brings names from the national and international music scene to an event that takes place along the Douro River.
These are the celebrations that take place in August:
Festas de S. Bartolomeu: in Foz do Douro, the Festivities of S. Bartolomeu bring traditional handicrafts and gastronomy to the Jardim do Passeio Alegre. Also part of the parties is a procession with costumes made of paper.
Noites Ritual Rock( at the end of the month): music festival with Portuguese bands and artists.
