Herbalife Gran Canaria is a professional basketball team of the city Las Palmas de Gran Canaria which participates in the league of ACB of Spain . Between 1988 and April of 2014 the team disputed its meetings in the CID ( Insular Center of Sports ). The 8 of April of 2014 moved to the new pavilion Gran Canaria Arena . It was founded in 1963 . In the 2016 / 17 season , it is the 26th participation , 22 of them consecutive , in the highest category of Spanish basketball , being the eleventh team of Spain by number of seasons in ACB .
It is currently one of the best basketball teams in Spain
UD Las Palmas is the football team based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria . It plays in La Liga .
