SKYPE VIDEO CONFERENCE

When : Wednesday , 7th March , 2017 Czech time : 13:35 , Turkish time : 15:35 Between : Czech and Turkish team
Lasted : 1 hour
We spoke about : us , our schools , our kiosks , homework , teachers , hobbies , German language , preparation for school and studying , travelling and our experiences abroad , our plans for the future . We learned that in Turkey they are two hours behind our country and they really have maths on Saturday ..
The Turkish team prepared questions for individual members and we for the whole group . Our two members were absent but everyone could speak . Our impressions :
A . J .: ‘ It was the first time we had a Skype with students from another country and it was a great experience ! I look forward next one J .’
T . V .: ‘ Our team was considerably smaller than the Turkish team . ‘
T . V .: ‘ As we were not used to the Turkish names , some sounded really foreign ( understandably so ) to us . ‘
T . V .: ‘ Some people had to study three hours a DAY ? Sounds exhausting . ‘
Czech team in our IT3 lab , Turkish team on the screen .
Advice for next conferences for all : Š . O .: ‘ Speak aloud and slowly , please .‘
T . V .: ‘ Please , bear in mind that people on the other team may not be that advanced in listening and speaking English and might be confused by more complex sentence structures . Short and to the point might be the best strategy . This thing applies to all students using Skype , never mind their nationality .‘
T . V .: ‘ Some people , me being the prime example , are not ample with names . I even sometimes mess up names of my classmates . Name tags would be helpful in first instances of conversation . ‘ Š . O .: It was good that students communicated . We were happy to see the other team and enjoyed it a lot .
