Sports in Děčín
Our town Děčín is perhaps not as well-known in Sports as Prague or other famous towns , but that doesn ´ t mean we are all sitting home doing nothing . You could say the opposite ; Děčín is a town of many sports , a bit thanks to our principal Mr . Lešanovský ( there is an interview with him in the first issue of our magazine ), but also many more great people . I will tell you about the situation of some of the sports and also about some clubs representing the sports .
Basketball – is the most popular sport in Děčín , young children are dreaming of playing in the A-
team of BK Armex Děčín ( some U19 players too ) and the tickets for a match of A-team are often sold out . Basketball is also a sport carried at schools , mostly high schools . As I mentioned before , our basketball club is called BK Armex Děčín . They are respected in our republic , often winning the second place in Kooperativa NBL , our National league , which is a great achievement for a club of their size . Ice Hockey – is not as popular as basketball and its prestige is also much lower , but it ´ s fun to watch . The team representing our town is HC Děčín .

Then we do have many other sports . Like Aikido , Aerobic , Floorball , Football , Volleyball and many more . To sum up , we are very active in our free-time and are not afraid of sporting and doing something for our health . Obviously , this doesn ´ t apply to everyone ! A popular place in Děčín , the aquapark , which is ialways packed with people in the summer .
