WE ARE INVOLVED STUDENTS AT IES MESA Y LÓPEZ At IES Mesa y López we are very involved in some questions that are really important in society nowadays. For that reason, some students and teachers work in different projects: The Human Rights Committee (HRC), the Equality Commission (EC) or The Supportive Route among others. The Human Right Committee and The Equality Commission These are two voluntary groups at the high school, which work in a coordinated way, with the aim of creating a new commitment and philosophy of life in a society where there is not so much justice and so much inequality of opportunities. For example, the global warming, the refugees’ situation or differences that there are still because of our sex gender’ ‘What is the thing you like doing the most in there? Apart of learning a lot, I love organizing workshops or exhibitions. This year, at break time, we read a manifesto the International Day for the elimination of violence against women, November 25. Last year, we took part of the flashmob dancing “Abre tus ojos” (“Open your eyes”) and the students from the rest of the groups joined us at the playground. It was really funny.
