Big Data Week

21st of April 2015, there are eight participants from the Class Issue in Computer Forensic, inclusive of one lecturer. The event was called Big Data Week Conference & Expo, and it was held at Sunway Convention Centre. The BDW theme on that day was, “Big Data is Here and Now”, and it was to show how Big Data is actually being used today in order to fuel desire, creativity and action from more people to start their own Big Data Projects. Travelling to the conference, we took UNITAR bus from UNITAR International University from 8.00 a.m. and arriving at the conference at 8.30 a.m. the traffic condition was expected to be another usual day for Malaysia’s type of morning traffic. Upon arrival, the registration counter was unexpectedly very crowded and we can already feel the early atmosphere of the conference. That morning, we can expect a promising feedback and full participation from all participants from different background of expertiseThe event was just about to at Pyramid 2 start but the registration counter was still at full capacity. Therefore most of the participants had to postpone their registration until tea break. Upon our arrival actually, at the conference, they already prepare early morning breakfast that is worth to be mentioned, a Cheese Ham sandwich. At 9.20 a.m. based on the tentative brochure, was a welcoming speech from CEO of MDEC, Dato’ Yasmin Mahmood on “Malaysia’s journey towards a Big Data Hub for ASEAN”..

In Summary, Malaysia have a strong support and has positive feedback from the ASEAN. This can be proved by comparing the number of positive feedback from the last BDW conference few years ago until now, the numbers of participants has gone triple than the previous BDW conference organized in Malaysia. This also promises, with the expose of BDW and its potential. Malaysian entrepreneur can take advantages from conference how to improve their business or their skills in IT with Big Data advantages.
In addition, “we live in days of an actual Big Data happening in real time that includes Live Data Flow, Data Explosion, and Data Growing in six hundred and fifty percent” says, Ivan Teh
