THE CREEPING CRUD EXPRESS

Please Note: We do not sell bootleg items.

I have always enjoyed the shows from June 1975. There is something about them; maybe it's the feeling that Elvis is actually enjoying the show rather than churning one out.

From the start both shows are partly recorded. Both are missing "See See Rider" and "I Got A Woman". The recording actually starts at "Amen" and not "I Got A Woman".

The show in Dallas is on disc one and from the outset you can tell Elvis is in a great mood with "Love Me" being performed with a happy feeling and up-beat tempo. At the end of the song he states, "Last night in Houston I kissed somebody and I caught the creeping crud!" From this we go into "If You Love Me (Let Me Know)". It sounds as if this song is being performed slightly too fast, however you can hear clearly that Elvis is enjoying himself on stage.

"Love Me Tender" is up next, before moving on to "All Shook Up / Teddy Bear / Dont Be Cruel". His mood is such that even these songs are performed well and are not given the usual throw away treatment. At the end of "Hound Dog", Elvis asks the audience, "How many of you saw that movie last night on television?" ("That's the way it is") The crowed scream in response, to which Elvis replies, "Then why did you come out and spend your money? It's just the same thing, except all these people have got a little older on stage except me!"

There is a rare outing of the song The wonder of you.Slightly fast all be it an enjoyable version of the song.

There is a rare outing of the song "The Wonder Of You". Slightly fast, but an enjoyable version of the song none the less.

"Burning Love" is performed with a drive, such that you can tell Elvis is enjoying tonights show. Skipping the band intros, Elvis delivers a great live version of "T.R.O.U.B.L.E", before having fun with JD Sumner on the song "Why Me Lord", trying to put him off any way he could during the verses.

Having always liked the song "Let Me Be There", it is a pleasant version Elvis gives on this cd - fun, upbeat and really enjoyable.

Given Elvis' mood tonight, "American Triology" is not taken seriously enough by Elvis which slightly wastes this performance. "Funny How Time Slips Away" is given a reprise at the end to highlight JD Sumner... aren't we at an Elvis show?

Elvis states, "This next song is a very serious song," before launching into almost the silliest Elvis song ever: "Little Darlin' ". "Mystery Train / Tiger Man" is given a run-out before "Can't Help Falling In Love".

All in all, Elvis' mood makes this show (CD1) enjoyable if not at times silly, which in turn takes away a little from the show. Although we cannot expect every show to be like Aloha or Vegas 69, the show would have been more enjoyable if he had taken it a bit more seriously.
