he year is certainly well underway and I have
found myself busy running around making sure I
have everything organised for the start of school
and Kindergarten (also known as preschool depending on what state you’re from). As I'm running around getting organised, thinking about
how I can cover my daughter’s books beautifully
and what I can bake and freeze for the lunch
boxes, it's beginning to dawn on me that this
day is actually arriving - my daughter is starting
school, how time passes by so quickly!
I am a mother of three; I have two beautiful
larger than life daughters and a very handsome
son. When my son who is the youngest was born
I had three children under four and it was a challenge to say the least! My capacity was stretched
to its limit and so was my waistline! I would have
well-meaning people ask me “so when are you

having the next one?” and I’d often think “my
son is only six weeks old so having another one
hasn’t even crossed my mind, let me have a
break!”
Hang on, is there such a
thing as a break during the
little years?
In the thick of the busyness often I would tell
myself that I have to get out of survival mode
and get into thriving mode. Is it possible to thrive
while you have commitments outside of the
home plus a young family, a husband and a dog
(not to mention the chooks and finches) that all
need your attention, food prepared for them,
washing done for them and most all your love
and affection poured into them? I believe the
