these beautiful Indonesian children. Our church
is just one of many from all over the world that
are supporting this amazing village.
built a training centre, houses, a medical centre,
a Praise and Worship centre, sewing rooms, a Bible college, a primary school and the first stages
of a high school – it is amazing!
It is the vision of an Australian couple who left
everything to bring the Gospel to the Dayak people in Borneo. In 1995 Ronny and Kay Heyboer
sold their home and with their family, left Australia to do whatever the Lord had in store for
them. As they shared the Good News of Jesus,
they came across many neglected and orphaned
children in dire need. It wasn’t long before they
had an ever expanding family of children to look
after.
People from all over the world travel to
the village to help in many and varied
ways – hence our visit.
The Lord birthed a vision in them to provide accommodation for 1000 children
and schooling for 2000 and in 2002 the
unfolding of this vision began.
Now about 500 children are living in the village.
They have purchased over 300 hectares of land,

The visitor’s dorms are basic but comfortable.
There is electricity to run the lights and fans
(and charge our phones and ipads!) generated
by huge diesel powered generators. These were
donated by a church in England that sold their
own building to provide for the village. They hum
quietly day and night to provide basic amenities that we are very grateful for – especially the
fans at night and the air conditioner in the dental
surgery!
It is hot and tropical – much like we are used to
