CLUB TRUSTEES: Alan Cockram, Peter Buckingham, Phil Howe & Pete Garnsworthy. , Good afternoon all and a warm welcome to today’s visitors, Torpoint Athletic. Buxs banter We played our best football of the season when we travelled to Torpoint back in November last year and beat them 5-2, inflicting their first home defeat of the season. And it was our strike force of James Blake (2) and Lee Radford (3) who did the damage. Today’s match is bound to be a tough one as I’m sure Torpoint will be aiming to avenge that defeat. However, with Blake and Radford up front we know we have two forwards who will trouble most sides. Today we are missing three of our youngsters – Jake Welch, Jack Bryant and Lewis Fraser – who are all on duty with the Devon Under 18s. We also no longer have Tom Tricker who has decided to join Bovey Tracey – now the home to three players who started the season here at Horsdon Park. However, we do welcome new signing Darren Goff who will be making his home debut. Last week we twice fought back from a deficit for a well-eared point in a 3-3 draw at St. Blazey. We were two goals down but then Blake and Radford brought us level. A penalty restored the home side’s advantage before Liam Pike got us the point we deserved when he headed home from a Brett Worbey free kick. We seem to be the league’s draw specialists, having seven, to date, and, apart from the thrashing against Saltash in the Throgmorton Cup, we have been playing well in our last 10 games.
