Buxs banter With James Blake, Matt Harvey, Daniel Tapp, Steve Harris, Liam Thomas, Callum Hutching and Josh Hopkins (the latter two both playing for the U18s) all unavailable for tonight’s game, it is an opportunity to develop players rather than progress in tonight’s competition. The result is not important to us – it is more about the performance. Tiverton did not impress me in our pre-season Hospital Cup friendly, and up to a few weeks ago it did not seem to be going well for them. I would rather have played them then as since they seem to have clicked. My players showed plenty of resilience against a strong Saltash side last Saturday. Josh Hopkins, headed us ahead with a cracking goal. And, although new signing Andy Rodgers was harshly sent off after receiving two yellows, we were disappointed not to have won it. With no fixture this weekend it buys us some time to get our injured players fit, and with my efforts to bring in some fresh faces. n Congratulations go to Cullum Hutchings and Josh Hopkins who have both stepped up from the U18s Youth side and more than held their own with the first team at the young age of 16 years.
