Jason Rainey joins youth team set-up: The successful Tiverton Town Under16 management team of Jason Rainey and Neil Hopkins has moved across town to join the Elmore youth set-up. The team is managed by Jade Maryan and the secretary is Jo Hill. The team will be coached by Adam Burden and Adam Passmore. Jason Rainey New programme editor: Former local journalist Colin Gunney, who reported on Elmore for the Devon & Somerset News back in the late 1960s and early 1970s has taken on the role of PR co-ordinator. Rainey, a defender who played for Elmore for 14 years in the Western league, and Hopkins will manage Elmore’s Under-18 side alongside Matt Howe. All three are qualified Level 2 coaches and have extensive experience at all levels of football in the Tiverton area. Rainey also manages the County U16s team and is on the management team for the County U18s side alongside Elmore first team manager Pete Buckingham. Colin is content managing the website and editing/designing the matchday programme. Before leaving Tiverton in late 1972, he was chairman of the Tiverton Youth Centre Football Club (comprised mainly of young Elmore players) which gained promotion from the third to the first division of the Exeter Sunday League in successive seasons. Neil Hopkins In Reading, Colin was the Reading FC correspondent for the Reading Chronicle for five years, sports editor of the Berkshire Mercury and later chief sub-editor of the Chronicle group. For 14 years he edited Reading FCs awardwinning matchday programme. He is also the man behind the club’s nickname change from The Biscuitmen to The Royals – he persuaded the directors of Reading FC and the Chronicle Group management to agree to find a new nickname via a competition. Matt Howe Elmore to run third team: Elmore will be running a third team in the Devon and Exeter League Division 8 this season, managed by Colin Butt with Shawn Legg assistant manager.
