FOOTBALL COMMITTEE: Jed Hewitt (chairman), Matt Howe, Ian Edgecumb, Neville Crocker, Nick Westcott, Keith Humphreys, Colin Gunney (PR). After two fine victories – and nine goals – home against Tavistock (4-1) and away against Bovey Tracey (5-1) we came down to earth against Exmouth Town. Exmouth proved a very powerful outfit and I can see why they had a 100 per cent record after just four games. In the first half it was like men against boys... we gave them too much respect. Three nil down at the interval, I had some choice words with the players. And it worked, for we were unrecognisable after the break and played exceptionally well. Jesse Howe reduced the deficit from long range and we also created numerous chances. It would have been very interesting had we been able to score a second goal. With the injury to Blakey (medial ligament), Richard Jones (moving away to work for Thames Valley Police), Daniel Tapp (holiday) and Jesse Howe (two-match suspension), I am looking to strengthen the squad, so consequently there may be some new faces in today’s line-up. ..............................................
