Good afternoon and
welcome to our visitors
from Newquay for our last
game of the season.
Buxs
banter
There is no denying that this has
been a very difficult season for
Elmore. The fact we have used enough
players to field four different sides with substitutes
just about sums it up.
A lack of committment, work and every other excuse
possible – mostly last minute ones – have seen us
with no substitutes on the bench even for some home
games.
This is not good enough for a club of this standing,
particularly when you consider we have three senior
sides and a very good Under-18 youth team.... it begs
the question what level of football do we want to play
at. Elmore FC have to address this at the earliest
opportunity.
On top of this we have the situation where some
players have played for other sides during the
season. Once you sign for this club you should play
for no other team unless the manager agrees to it.
We have had our moments this season with some
creditable results against the the likes of Plymouth
Parkway, Saltash, Launceston,
Torpoint and Bodmin Town – all
away from home.
Looking at the statistics these
‘moments’ coincided with
when we could field a
stronger side.
Let’s hope the sky is blue and
the sun is hot today, which
I’m sure will help us all forget
the wind and rain and the
poor season we have had.
Thank you for your support
this season, and, if the weather
is against us again, .... let’s get
down the travel agents!
Enjoy
BUXS
