Mike Hocking and John Dent were in the
hot seat for the 1997/98 and 1998/99
seasons respectively and Gary Shirley and
Keith Ellacott took the helm in 1999/00.
Gary Shirley remained in charge of the
first team until the end of the 2003/04
season when he was succeeded by John
Clarkson and in March 2005 the Clarets
proudly lifted the Cornwall Senior Cup for
the first time in over 20 years when they
beat favourites Bodmin 2-1 at Liskeard’s
Lux Park .
The following season new manager Paul
Smith took them to the semi-finals of both
the League Cup and the Cornwall Charity
Cup and in May 2007 they beat St Blazey
2-1 at Wadebridge in the last ever South
Western League Cup Final. The following
year they reached the final of the Cornwall
Charity Cup, only to lose to Bodmin.
Paul Smith stepped down during 2009/10
and was replaced by player/manager
Darren Garner.
Joe Davey took over for the start of the
2010-11 season with Paul Smith stepping
back into the hot seat for the latter half of
the season with former reserves boss
Andy Hunt as his assistant.
Leigh Cooper was appointed manager for
the 2011-12 season and this will be his
third season in charge along with his
assistant Tony Richardson.
