Good afternoon and welcome to our visitors from Exmouth Town. Buxs banter I would like to congratulate Exmouth manager Richard Pears for the outstanding job he has done at Exmouth this season. It’s still possible they could go up as runner-up and they still have an outside chance of winning the title. With Exmouth beaten by Godolphin last Saturday (our visitors here this coming Saturday) it meant that Plymouth Parkway jumped to the top of the table above Exmouth. However, it is all back in the melting pot now after Bodmin Town beat Plymouth Parkway 1-0 on Monday night. That result puts our performance against Bodmin last Saturday in a very good light – shame I can’t keep a settled side for tonight’s match. While Exmouth are hoping to beat us tonight to keep up their promotion hopes alive there is another big match going on tonight with Parkway entertaining our near neighbours Witheridge. Against Bodmin last Saturday I had to play goalkeeper Joe Moore, despite him still having a dislocated finger. Considering I had to make six changes from our previous match, I thought we deserved something out of the game. I was very pleased with our performance, particular with Joe. Joe has been outstanding for us this year, but we had to strap him up and give him some painkillers so he could play. But even he could not stop Bodmin’s winner, which took a big deflection before squeezing in off the foot of the post. He played really, really well – truly a credit to the club for playing despite being injured. And when he saved their penalty, I thought we we would go on to win.
