The documentary “Screenagers” was shown both years and together we hosted speakers Ruth Potee, M.D. who spoke about the teen brain and South Windsor Police Officer Tina Roy who shared her knowledge of the newest apps youth are using while at home and school. Ellington Youth Services has offered several stress reduction programs for youth as well as two screenings this spring of the film, “Angst,” a documentary about anxiety. An animated series called “The Kind Farm Series” and booklet about anxiety called “More Than Okay” were also created by staff of Youth Services. On May 4th, the same night as a middle school dance, Dana Cavallo, Ph.D of Yale University spoke about e-cigarettes at Ellington Middle School.

"We are very grateful for the close partnership our school district has with Ellington Youth Services and DPYC," said David Pearson, principal of the middle school. "We believe over the years, our joint efforts have had a positive influence on the very encouraging trends indicated in the most recent ERASE survey results."
