I interviewed the main beautician to give more information about ELLE Salon, Tudor Mombasa:
On average, about how many customers do you get each day?
“ On weekdays I usually get around 5 customers only; 2 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. On weekends, I have about 10 customers and they mostly come during the afternoon due to the jobs they have in the morning.”
How many employees do you have? If so, how is their behavior towards the customers?
“ I have about 4 employees, 3 women and 1 man. The man doesn’ t have any contact with any customers, he is just used to go places to get things while one women, treats the hair of the customers, another women does the message of the customers and lastly the last women washes the hair of the customers and waxes the customers.
What types of products do you use on the customers hair? Are they from a good brand?
I use different types of hair products and machine depending on what the customers what and how much they pay for a certain hair treatment. The products and machines I use are a good brand because I get them from a good negotiation as well as it has good quality which satisfies my customers enough.
Why do you have offers? Do you think it’ s ethical to have offers in a salon?
Having offers in the first place is to attract more customers however; I don’ t advertise it because I feel like if I do, I can create a loss. I think it’ s a good idea that I am giving this offer because I my Salon goes on loss on certain days which affects me and the responsibilities I have for my family.
