Dear Elizabeth,

The day we found out we were pregnant with you, was one of the happiest days of our lives. A whole new world awaited us. The anticipation was so exciting: is it a boy or a girl, who will he or she look like, which mannerisms will he or she have from us? It seems like just yesterday we were asking those questions and anticipating your arrival. And now, in the blink of an eye, here you are getting ready to graduate from high school.

It has been such a privilege to have you in our life. You have brought so much joy to everyone you encounter. The word “special” is used often to describe you, because there truly is something very uniquely special about you that words cannot describe. God has truly blessed us by giving us the honor of being a part of your life.

As you embark on a new chapter in your life, we are equally excited as we were awaiting your arrival. We are filled with new questions: Will you un-tap the curiosity of young learners as your teachers did for you, will you delve into the world of neuroscience, or perhaps discover the cure for cancer? Whatever path you end up following, one thing is certain; you WILL make a difference in people’s lives. I just know that in my heart.

We are so proud of you and all of your accomplishments thus far. We know there will be many more to come in the future. It has been a great journey and we look forward to what the future holds for you.

Stay true to yourself, laugh often, keep your faith, be open to new opportunities and enjoy the ride. We are so proud of you and love you more than words can say.

Love, Mom and Dad
