Nintendo is back with a brand new console this month ; the shape-shifting Nintendo Switch . Designed as a console that can be used at home – by sliding it into the included dock – or played on-the-go thanks to its integrated 6 ” screen , it ’ s poised to occupy a unique position in the gaming landscape .
The console takes the form of a tablet with detachable ‘ Joy-Con ’ controllers on either side . These can be used in situ to play games on the screen , can be used independently as modern Wii Remotes or individual control pads for two-player games , or can be attached to a ‘ Joy-Con Grip ’ which turns them into something resembling a standard controller . The Joy-Con ’ s have built-in batteries , motion sensors , and an advanced vibration feature Nintendo calls ‘ HD rumble ’ which we ’ re sure has lots of interesting uses .
