One of the most critical responsibilities of an Anesthesiologist is to establish the correct levels of oxygenation under sedation.
Patients needs to breath properly under sedation. A growing risk is the amount of obese patients. And that's because if oxygenation problems exist already in an alert state, it is very risky to oxygenate them properly when sedated. This situation is very important especially in outpatient clinics.
