If you aren’t currently practicing yoga at home or attending classes, I suggest giving yourself a gift that is sure to keep on giving! No matter your age or ability; no matter where you currently find your physical well-being, I believe the concepts behind a regular practice can bring you piece of mind, a strong sense of self, and myriad physical rewards.

I used to think I didn’t have a ‘yoga body’ and that my flexibility was too limiting to take on yoga. However, when I began going to classes, my teachers taught me that it wasn’t about getting into a perfect position or asana, but rather, it was about getting myself into whatever position that my body allowed me to get into on any given day or time. On some days, I am able to go deeply into postures that once were a struggle. On other days, the limitations of a particular body part find me breathing deeply and steadily, knowing fully that I am right where my body needs me to be.

Yoga, more than any other practice in my life, has taught me to accept myself, completely.

Yoga, has taught me about using my breath to send energy where I need it, to get me through something I may be struggling with, and to go more deeply into myself and into my body than I knew how.

Yoga, has brought me to the center of who I am to become.

I hope you allow a yoga practice into your life. It might take you to places you never imagined you could go.
