When we hear the expression “Love Life” the mind may conjure images of windswept hair, puppies, beaches, bubbles and rainbows.

But how about when your nose is running, you’re crying your heart out and you feel like something the cat dragged in – how do you “Love Life” then?

Dreamy images aside, what is it to really love life?

It’s EASY to love life when you’re playing with a puppy, flipping your fabulous hair, walking on the beach blowing bubbles and rainbow gazing. But what about when your hair’s a mess and you’re slipping in mud?

As Elisabeth Kubler-Ross put it, “People are like stained glass windows: They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light within.”

How do we shine our light, even in the darkness? Why do bad things happen to good people? Why do things feel so difficult at times?

Here’s how to LOVE LIFE when the going gets tough:

To “Love Life” is to ask not “Why is this happening TO me?” but rather to ask “Why is this happening FOR me?”

Life is a wonderful school. What are the lessons it is trying to teach us?
