Die Mitgliedsunternehmen im VMDA Elektrische Automation entwickeln , planen , bauen und stellen Basistechnologien für die Automatisierung zur Verfügung , die in breitem Umfang im Maschinen- und Anlagenbau genutzt werden . In den Mitgliedsfirmen steht dazu ein breites und branchenspezifisches Fachwissen zur Verfügung . Für jede Anwendung soll eine technisch und wirtschaftlich optimale Lösung angeboten werden .
Die Mitglieder im Fachverband decken folgende Produktklassen ab :
• Sensorik
• Steuerungstechnik
• Kommunikationstechnik
• Bedienen und Beobachten ( HMI )
• Aktorik
• Schaltschränke und Energieverteilung
Die bestehende Zusammenarbeit zwischen Anwendern und Anbietern , bezogen auf die einzelnen Fachverbände und -abteilungen des VDMA , zeigt die Anwendungsmatrix „ Know-how in Branchen “ ( Seite 12 ). Angaben zum Produktund Dienstleistungsprogramm der Mitgliedsunternehmen enthält die Matrix „ Kompetenz in Technik “ ( Seite 30 ).
Der VDMA Elektrische Automation ist seit dem Jahr 2000 fester Bestandteil des VDMA und als Querschnittstechnologie im VDMA integriert . Er hat sich bis heute auf über 300 Mitgliedsunternehmen sehr gut entwickelt , siehe Mitgliederverzeichnis ( Seite 70 ).
The member companies in the VMDA Electrical Automation develop , plan , construct and provide basic technologies for use right across the engineering sector based on the broad range of sector-specific know-how made available by the member companies . A technically and economically optimal solution should be offered for every application .
The members in the trade association cover the following product classes :

• Human-machine interface ( HMI )
• Actuators
• Control cabinets and power distribution
Current collaboration between users and providers within the framework on the VDMA associations is illustrated by the application matrix “ Expertise for Industries ” ( page 12 ).
