The Reception | Following the ceremony , guests were treated to an antipasto buffet , cocktail hour and spirited bridal party entrance with music from Icona Pop . Once Ana and Denny were introduced for the first time as husband and wife they shared their first dance to the classic Ben E . King hit “ Stand By Me .” To honour the couple ’ s heritage , a traditional Portuguese dinner was served with an entrée of Caldo Verde ; choice of salmon , stuffed chicken and steak duo as the main course ; and crème brulé dessert . Later in the evening , a delicious Portuguese malasada table was presented along with an amazing five-tier cake decorated with blue azulejo tilework .
The Decor | Laura & Co . Events ensured Ana and Denny ’ s decor throughout the ceremony and reception followed an elegant garden aesthetic . Starting with the invitation suite , a palette of midnight blue and gold was prominent . Bridal bouquets were a mix of lush green , white and cream florals , which continued onto the centrepieces and head table accents . Navy blue table linens were combined with vintage gold candelabra , gold “ sunburst ” charger plates and gold chiavari chairs from Detailz Couture Event Rentals . For that subtle shimmer of gold , floor-to-ceiling draping was used as a backdrop to the head table .
