How They Met | Monica and Ricardo met 17 years ago through their parents. When the two families travelled to Cuba on a one-week all-inclusive vacation together,
Monica and Ricardo got to know each other quite well. After that, they became close friends and eventually, a couple in 2002. Eight years later, Ricardo secretly asked
Monica’s parents’ permission to have her hand in marriage. He planned the ring purchase with her mother (who worked in jewellery), and organized a dinner date, which
almost didn’t happen because Monica wasn’t feeling her best. Luckily, Ricardo convinced her. One moment they were enjoying dinner, and the next, Ricardo was kneeling
down on one knee, smiling up at her, with a box in his hand. They ended the night celebrating with a bottle of champagne.
