Electronic Sound July 2015 (Regular Edition) | Page 3
HELLO
welcome to
Electronic
Sound 12
When Electronic Sound was a quarterly magazine, our biggest headache
was finding enough space to fit everything in. Now we’re a monthly we can
cover much more ground on a more regular basis. Thing is, we’re finding our
headache is roughly the same as it was before!
This month we catch up with cover star DJ Shadow who remains one of
electronic music’s most interesting and creative characters. And, as usual,
you’ll find the very best of this month’s electronic releases reviewed for you.
Prime cuts include the new Herbert album, which is already the soundtrack
of our summer, The Orb, Jaga Jazzist, Jenny Hval, Everything Everything, and
many more.
We really hope you like what you read here. If so, why not check out the
Club edition of the magazine, which has heaps of extra content. This month
there’s an indepth interview with John Foxx. First as the singer with Ultravox
and then as a solo artist, he is one of the most respected figures on the
electronic scene. With two new albums out and a third on the way, the latter
a retrospective covering his early years, he chats past, present and future. Plus
Suicide biographer Kris Needs meets Martin Rev and Alan Vega on the eve of
a very special live appearance in London, we have lunch with synth godfather
Peter Zinovieff and go backstage with Scandi electo-pop sensation Karin Park.
And that’s not even mentioning our pieces on Laurent Garnier, A Guy Called
Gerald, Paul Hartnoll, Richard Fearless...
You can buy Club editions from inside your app or via our PDF shop for £4.99

almost £25 on the magazine alone, to say nothing of all the extra goodies
you’ll get.
