Step 4: If proper fertilization is achieved a tiny watermelon will appear directly underneath the flower.

Step 5: Once the watermelon becomes the size of a softball place a piece of cardoard underneath the watermelon to prevent mold. Turn the melon to prevent mold too.

Step 6: Place a cage around the watermelon to prevent varmints from getting into the watermelons

Step 6: When the tendril nearest to the watermelon curls and dies, or when the watermellon has a good thump pick it. When cutting it leave a good inch or two of the stem on, this will help it keep fresh longer.
