A proposed WA hydroelectric plant has been called the world ’ s smallest version of Snowy Hydro – with the project hoping to power Walpole , on the state ’ s southern coast . The town is frequently hit by power cuts , so it ’ s hoped the two reservoir solution – one 100m higher than the other – will provide the answer . WA energy minister , Bill Johnston , told the ABC he believed it was the smallest hydro project in Australia , and possibly the world . Now , for a country that prides itself on having the ‘ big ’ things , that ’ s some achievement !
