L et ’ s cut to the chase . In today ’ s world , a business needs a website . Why ? It ’ s simple . Your potential clients are out there , and if you want them they need to be able to find you . Eighty-eight per cent of Australians are online , and on average we spend almost 40 hours per week on the internet . From interacting on social media or watching sport to researching our next purchase or searching for a tradie to do a job we urgently need doing , more often than not we ’ re glued to our devices .

If you don ’ t have a website , you ’ ve likely got your reasons . Regular business and word of mouth , right ? And that ’ s fine . But if you ’ ve got aspirations of growing the business , or selling it at some point , you need the foundations in place .

WHAT DO YOU DO ?!
The worst websites are those that leave you asking , ‘ so , what is it you do exactly ?’. What you do should be the first thing that people see when visiting your site . ‘ Residential electrician servicing St Kilda and surrounding areas – no job too big or small ’: it ’ s very cliched , but it ’ s clear what you do , and importantly where you do it .

LIST YOUR SERVICES Somewhere on your website you should list the top 20 most common jobs you do . And then ideally create separate pages for the top five or 10 , going a bit more in depth about the service you ’ re offering . Why ? Two reasons . One , when people get onto your site they can immediately see you offer the service they need . Two , when people search ‘ solar installation
